About Me

I always find it interesting when looking at a website to find out who the person is and why they’ve set up the business they have, so I thought I had better have a page which does exactly that!

My name is Kate Strand and I have been a qualified massage therapist and member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists since July 2002. I originally learnt Swedish Massage whilst I was working as a senior manager in the charity sector. I had always been interested in human biology and physiology partly due to my own health problems and had found massage and gentle body manipulation to be incredibly helpful.

After qualifying I practised on friends and family whilst still working full time until I finally decided to take the plunge and make massage my full time occupation in the Spring of 2004.

My interest is very much focused on the ‘therapeutic’ side of massage therapy and after a period of research I decided to specialise in massage for pre-conception, pregnancy and the postnatal period. I gained further qualifications in this and Baby Massage in 2004. Both training courses required 6 months case study work after the initial training period – a great aspect to the course and one which resulted in well-recognised qualifications from the APNT and the IIHT respectively.

I now have clinics in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury (Gloucestershire) and Malvern (Worcestershire) and carry out a range of treatments: from relaxing body treatments to acupressure and deep tissue massage to pregnancy specific treatments and baby massage.
